Went to their new location in Bellflower. First time eating here. Food is AMAZING. I wish I wasnt on a strict diet or Id literally eat here every day. I can really see this place blowing up and opening other locations in the future.

I had the pleasure of trying The Tackle Box when they stopped at my job. I got the Shrimp Alfredo fries. They were pretty good, seasoned well, but I wish the shrimp was a little more cooked. The portion size was nice. I'd definitely give them another try for the box combos and more.

Work wife told me she had her eyes on this food truck for quite sometime and on Tuesdays they station their truck at the Reef parking lot instead of some place far far away from work. She got all excited and wanted to try it.
Finding the truck wasn't easy, but finding where to park was even harder. After circling around the block on Broadway and Washington, we finally found street parking. Since it was hot out, we took our food inside the Reef to eat after we ordered. Pro tips: instead of buying a drink at the truck, go inside to the cafe and order real drinks.
The food truck specialized in southern deep fried food. After looking through the menu, I got two way tackle box and a loaded chowder. Not all items had price listed especially with what I ordered, and mine came out to $20 even. Woah.
For my two way tackle box, I picked catfish and snapper with fries as my side. I also received chili lime and tartar as my dipping sauces. It took awhile for me to get my food since it was made to order. The catfish filet was fried well but lacked on seasoning. Dipping sauce was definitely required to add flavors to the fish. Snapper had the same issue, and worse yet, overcooked and very rubbery. Fries was decent but garlic bread wasn't so garlicky... actually, no garlic at all.
The loaded chowder was forgotten when my name was called. That was ok since the chodwer was premade and can be prepared quickly. It came with a piece of garlic bread. The chowder was extremely thick and salty. There was a good amount of bacon which made the chodwer even saltier. I couldn't say it was enjoyable.
Work crew ordered shrimp tackle box, catfish nugget tackle box, and fried lobster tail. I didn't try the shrimp since co-worker only had 6 pieces. The catfish nugget was pretty much random catfish parts that could be chewy depending on my luck. The lobster tail didn't have any flavor once the coating was gone.
I was going to get bacon hush puppy as my side, but I was told they didn't have them at all. I wasn't asked what sauces I wanted and got 2 tartar sauce by default. When I tried to get the lady's attention for exchange, maybe it was loud inside the truck, I was ignored. Eventually I got my chili lime. Truly, I was not that impressed with the food or the service. The price point was really high for the quality I received. Good news is I do have my go to place in downtown when I crave for catfish so I don't have to rely on this food truck. -

This truck was KILLER!!!
Didn't know what to expect at first, but since it was the food truck at my apt building for Food Truck Wednesday, I figured I would roll the dice! Sooo glad I did!
Had the catfish nugget special of the day (catfish nuggets and fries) and grabbed a piece of snapper on the side.
Best fried fish I have had from a truck and possible top 5 since being in LA! I know, I know .... bold claim, but it's that good!!!
If you see this truck, I would say spend $20 and thank me later!
